Veranthea Codex: Grethadnis

Gunfighting goblins, draconic zealots, horrors from the past, and a very old wizard.

In the west the firearm-wielding Doonfists have fortified their lines, to the east the forces of the Green Avenger exult in strange power, and after hundreds of years of isolation visitors from the distant lands of Urethiel and Trectoyri are starting to arrive in the Fair Continent. Mass conflict looms as the wrath of the oceans dwindle with the ebbing of the sea god’s rage and travel across the world begins anew, and all the while evils long thought defeated lurk in the shadows of war. The grand wizard Yawvil keeps precise records on the doings of the world, containing them all within the potent Veranthea Codex so that he might task adventurers with curbing the most disastrous schemes threatening his fellow mortals—this is his volume on the realms of Grethadnis!

This 190 page sourcebook for D&D 5E details 26 nations and regions across the Fair Continent with statistics for 100 NPCs in a realm of medieval fantasy often meddled with by an original pantheon of 18 gods. An entire academy of magic instructors, thieves’ guilds galore, zealous priesthoods—there’s even 18 new monsters in here including a draconic bunny. It also has new heritage options (like feylves, pantako, motleyfolk, and shadetouched), new class archetypes (including the fiery Doonfist Pistolero and greedy Oath of the Merchanteer), and more than a dozen new magic items (such as the banners of the crusades and mirrored weapons)!

The Pantheon of Ethelon

The Pantheon of Ethelon is an illustrated 136 page supplement, featuring 40 Gods, 40 Subclasses, and 40+ Legendary Artifacts, designed for 5th Edition.

While designed for Ethelon, the Gods and subclasses can be easily integrated into your own system or setting. Present them as “new gods”, or as “old gods” that have returned to the world. It’s up to you, the GM! Change the course of events by inserting these new deities with a surprising bang, or reveal them slowly over time.

Inside the book, you will find every single one of the Gods of Ethelon, 40 in total, with a full description of their belief system, origin, relationships, worshippers and legendary artifacts. Additionally, for every God of the Pantheon, you will find a subclass dedicated to each God, designed to portray a follower of the Divine being.

There is also a segment detailing the Theology of the setting starting from the beginning of time to the Present Day!

The Song of the Red Herring

Aye. A visit to the Red Herring is a must. The ale is good, and the fire is warm.
And the ladies who serve will charm the heart from your chest. I guarantee it.
–Grom Stoutkeel, Fisherman

There is a good reason that the Red Herring is the only inn in the village: no one goes anyplace else. Owned and operated by four beautiful sirens, the Red Herring has become quite the popular hangout for the local fishermen, putting all other inns and taverns out of business. The lure of good food and good company keep the locals coming back and recommending to all travelers that a visit to the Red Herring is well worth their time and coin.

Guests of the Red Herring enjoy their short stays and then move on. Or so the town believes. While some visitors return occasionally, others seem to prefer to leave early in the morning or late in the day after most of the town is out on the waters. Either way, several guests of the inn aren’t seen leaving… or ever again.
