Atari Wants Your Vote to Help Make Their Next Game (Yes, Really)
Atari is best known for classic video games, but the Atari Club Made initiative wants your votes on how to bring that feeling to the table.
All too often, a game comes out that looks great at first glance. However, after sitting and playing it for a while, you start to notice the cracks and flaws in the key gameplay mechanics. Or maybe you love the game but just can’t really vibe with the visual style.
Atari is playing it smart and polling its audience before making its new Centipede-themed card game. And they want your vote!
For the next few days only, fans can sign up at atari.club to become Atari Club Made members. There, they can vote on 3 key aspects of their newest game:
- Game Title
- Visual Style
- Key Game Mechanic
Club Made is all part of Atari’s ongoing commitment to fan engagement. According to the press release, this is only the beginning of the sort of fan-driven initiatives Atari has planned.
This project marks the latest milestone in Atari’s ongoing commitment to involve the fan community in product decisions—a foundational promise of the Atari Club. With each new initiative, from designing unique clothing patches for apparel collections to now shaping a card game, Atari is elevating the scope of community engagement, reinforcing a meaningful partnership with its members.
The Club Made initiative is about more than creating products; it’s a vehicle for community engagement, gathering valuable insights, and fostering a sense of ownership and pride among Club members.
This technically isn’t Atari’s first venture into tabletop gaming. A few years back, IDW released a Missle Command with Atari’s blessing. And I had a great time with it! There is also a Centipede board game. But I think it’s ready for another go at it. But the upcoming Centipede-inspired card game will be Atari’s first time venturing into the tabletop space on its own.
This is also on top of their push to modernize their classic video game consoles with the Atari 2600+. It truly is a great time to be an Atari fan.
