Frank Herbert’s Dune is the sci-fi/fantasy series that has been the beloved unicorn of the sci-fi community for the better part of a century. With its vivid landscapes, gripping political maneuverings, and a deep dive into cultural awareness and suppression, the series is just as relevant today as it was upon publication.

Until now, I’d say it was never done proper justice. (I’m not a Lynch fan, and I’m unapologetic about it).  Through the decades, there have been numerous on-screen depictions of its characters, culminating with Denis Villeneuve’s 2021 film.

The first installment of Denis Villeneuve’s reimagining of the Dune world left us breathless and wanting more. I lost count of how many times I went to see it, absolutely captivated by the otherworldly sounds and melodies created by Hans Zimmer’s immaculate and innovative score.

The second installment is just as breathtaking in its execution. Every frame is a visual masterpiece, a stunning blend of visual art, incredibly emotional storytelling, and powerful acting performances. It’s no wonder this world is such a focal point for cosplayer projects.

I’m going to come right out and say it. If this film doesn’t win ALL of the awards this season, there is no justice in Hollywood (okay, we already know that’s a thing, but I can HOPE for justice in the cinematic universes, right?!) This film was excruciatingly moving and is absolutely worth making time to go see in theaters, on the largest screen available.

In homage to this great cinematic SNACK of a film, we are here to celebrate some beautiful cosplays from the universe of Dune. We hope you enjoy it and that you go see it immediately.
