Daleks Are Invading Gallifrey in ‘Doctor Who: Time of the Daleks’
You can’t do it alone, so it’s like ‘Day of the Doctor’ all over again!
Doctor Who: Time of the Daleks 2nd Edition is the latest release from Gale Force Nine and is absolutely packed with theme for any fan of Doctor Who.
Doctor Who: Time of the Daleks is a semi-cooperative dice match game where each player takes the role of a regeneration of The Doctor. Using their tools and with their trusty companions at their sides, The Doctors need to work together to prevent the Daleks from reaching Gallifrey and disrupting the entire timeline to prevent The Doctor from ever existing!
In Time of the Daleks, each player travels from location to location and through time in order to solve dilemmas as they arise. In order to resolve these dilemmas, the player must roll the pool of dice they get from their character card, their companions, and any Timey-Wimey equipment cards.
By discarding dice, and by using other abilities, the players are able to reroll some of their dice, or even just set the die to a specific face. Each of the colors of die has a specialty, so it’s important to take your own die pool into consideration before tackling any major challenge.
If the player is able to match all of the dice of the dilemma, they gain whatever rewards are listed on the location. But failure comes with a penalty too, as listed on the dilemma tile.
As The Doctors race their Tardises through the Web of Time, they are chased by the Dalek Ship. Each time the Dalek Ship reaches a Time Anomaly token, a Time Anomaly card is revealed, and causes trouble for the players until it is fully resolved.
If the Daleks reach Gallifrey before any of the players do, the Web of Time is ripped apart and all players lose! However, the first player who is able reach Gallifrey before the Daleks, saves the timeline and is declared the winner!
The base game comes with 4 Doctors, but each expansion adds more Doctors, more locations, and more adventures!
