Last year brought back a bigger, grown-up version of Lion Knights Castle. Now, LEGO is bringing back another childhood favorite—PIRATES!

The theme topped the charts in a recent vote, convincing the brickmaker to create a new set. The result is the Icons Eldorado Fortress, also known as Governor’s Fort Sabre. It’s based on a LEGO Pirates set based on Imperial Forts from the Golden Age of the piracy era. The original set was unveiled in 1989.

LEGO Icons: Eldorado Fortress

The 2509-piece set features a new, much larger version of the fortress with a working port and crane, jail, and trap doors. Six soldier minifigs run the fortress and man its cannons. It also comes with an imperial ship with soft sails and a small pirate rowboat with two pirate minifigs. An island fortress wouldn’t be complete without a cheeky monkey minifig, so this set has one.

  • 2509 pieces
  • 8 minifigs
  • Open fort is 10.5 in. (27 cm) high, 27.5 in. (70 cm) wide, and 9.5 in. (24 cm) deep

LEGO Creator: 3 in 1 Pirate Ship

Just want the pirates? This set lets you build three different high seas-themed locations, including a ship with moving sails, cannons, and a cabin with an opening roof and sides. It also comes with a brick-built shark and a parrot to berate the crew.

  • 1264 pieces
  • 3 minifigs
  • Make 1 of 3: Pirate Ship, Pirates’ Inn, or Skull Island
  • 14 in. (37cm) high, 18 in. (46cm) long, and 7 in. (19cm) wide
