Star Wars: Shatterpoint – ‘Stronger Than Fear’ Squad Pack Rules Preview
Atomic Mass Games has revealed the rules for the crew of the Ghost. Let’s see what Kanan, Zeb, and Ezra can do in Star Wars: Shatterpoint!
The Rebels are back and this time we get a look at the rules for the Stronger Than Fear Squad Pack featuring Kanan Jarrus, Ezra Bridger, and “Zeb” Orrelios. This crew is more than just a Rebel Cell, it’s a found-family trying to stay one step ahead of the Empire. And this is just the first half of the crew…
“As the Galactic Empire spread tyranny through the galaxy, some individuals chose to fight back against the oppressors and bring peace to the galaxy. Over their time fighting the Empire, the Ghost crew forged strong bonds of friendship and became something more akin to a family than a Rebel cell. Their efforts against Grand Admiral Thrawn caused major disruptions to the Emperor’s plans for galactic conquest and paved the way for the Empire’s eventual downfall.”
Kanan Jarrus, Spectre-1
First up we have Kanan Jarrus. He’s the reluctant leader of the Ghost crew who is posing as a smuggler. In reality he’s Caleb Dume, a Jedi who escaped Order 66 and has been on the run ever since. While he tries his best to keep his training underwraps, he’s willing to shed his disguise when his friends are in danger. That’s when the Lightsaber comes out and he steps back into his former life as a Jedi.
A closer look at this abilities showcases just how much of his old training he still remembers. Force Push and Deflect are classic Jedi moves. But he’s also got a pair of good support abilities with his other two skills. Now I Know There’s Something Stronger Than Fear allows him to heal, move, and even get in a 5 die attack is an allied Rebel Alliance unit is wounded. A Man With Two Names also leans into his dual roles as both a Smuggler and a Jedi — based on which combat stance is active.
When Kanan is in Form III Soresu Stance, he forgoes his ranged attacks and focuses instead of solid defense and precision strikes with his Lightsaber. When he’s in Pack Leader, it’s more about versatility and allows for more options while in combat.
Ezra Bridger, Spectre-6
“A street kid from Lothal, Ezra Bridger joined the crew through a series of unlikely circumstances. Under Kanan’s tutelage, he is a Padawan learning the ways of the Force.”
Ezra has been taken in by the crew of the Ghost. Perhaps it was fate, the Force, or just dumb luck — but no matter how you slice it he’s now a Padawan learning from Kanan. He’s got a few basic Force abilities to help him out on the tabletop, too.
In combat, he’s still learning. Thankfully for him, he’s a Fast Learner. He’s got a custom Lightsaber and he’s not afraid to use it (but I’d be a little hesitant to be to close to him when he’s got it out personally). That said, don’t underestimate him. His combat potential is nothing to sneeze at and he’s a threat you shouldn’t discount.
“Zeb” Orrelios, Spectre-4
“Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios rounds out this squad, bringing his colorful vocabulary and “fist-forward” problem-solving skills along for the ride. “Zeb” has a serious bone to pick with the Empire after the siege of his homeworld, Lasan.”
Zeb is a potent Supporting Unit for this crew. He’s got quite the beef to carry him through the combat and he’s willing to bring the pain right to the enemy, too. His abilities reflect his time spent as a member of the Lasan Honor Guard. He’s well trained and got combat experience — what’s not to like?!
When it is time to throw hands, Zeb is really best suited for melee. His ranged defenses aren’t the best and it’s clear he prefers the safety of close-combat. His Honor Guard Captain combat stance is pretty brutal with bonus moves and/or damage options. And really, what more could you ask for?
Again, this is just the first half of the Ghost crew. The other half is sure to be previewed soon. For now, know that there is something stronger than fear — and this squad pack is currently up for pre-order with a release date of July 5, 2024.
